The club run weekly sessions on the closed road / traffic free circuit at Stourport Sports Club on Saturdays from 11am to noon. These are open to all.
All ages and abilities are welcome; so you can ride your bike away from traffic in a safe environment, just pootle around having a chat or ride a little quicker whilst improving fitness.
Qualified coaches are on hand to offer up some advice to improve your technique if you want assistance.
We have a few bikes that are available but please inform us before hand to avoid disappointment
Helmets MUST be worn on the circuit
Severn Valley Velo Club Members pay £1, Non-Members £2 – Pay on arrival to a member of the club not the Sports Club.
Everyone is welcome to stay afterward for a drink in the club house.
On occasional weekends we do not have access to the circuit but will plan an alternative ride. These will be posted on Facebook.
In the event of bad weather, normally rain, we may cancel the session at short notice but may still turn up at the clubhouse for a coffee/tea and a chat. We will endeavour to post this on Facebook.
Warning the car park has a height barrier at the entrance.
CIRCUIT DISCIPLINE
Always ride on the inside of the circuit, except when overtaking, i.e. on the left if riding in an anticlockwise direction as we normally do, or on the right if we decide to have a change and ride clockwise
Do not change position on the circuit without first checking behind to ensure it is safe to do so. This includes when leaving the circuit.
When overtaking be sure it is safe to do so as well as informing the rider to be overtaken of your presence if limited space is available. This is particularly important near the hairpin bends.
Only overtake on the inside if there is plenty of space and advise the rider of the side you are overtaking on.
Do not brake hard other than in an emergency and give verbal warning to riders who might be directly behind.
Make riders aware of any obstruction etc that may be on the circuit.
Make allowance for the unpredictability of young children and vulnerable adults.
